Dark emotive singer songwriter material, Dreams Die First was created by Leo Ashline in 1999 as a vehicle for his solo recordings. The first recording was a casette release of acoustic guitar and voice material called "The Guilt". A backing band fleshed out the songs on the second ep, "Prologue", but a new lineup helped hone the band's sound on the following ep, "Neverending Daylight". Yet another lineup appeared on the final ep "The Dark Road North" which was never released. Dreams Die First(1999-2003)

A Soft Perversion began in SW Florida in the summer of 2003, A handful of songs were written, and the group began performing regularly around SWFL. Their first release was a seven inch titled Last Hoorah!. Pressed on white vinyl. In 2004 the band relocated to Holyoke, MA to seek a more conducive environment for their creative energy. They continued self recording in an abandoned factory located in Holyoke's downtown industrial area. These songs were later included on two simultaneously released cd singles, "Holyoke" and "Year of the Strangler". Ashline and Ringsmuth have once again relocated, this time to Athens GA, where they are currently recording songs for their next release, tentatively titled "Imaginary Lovers".
